I wanted to personally reach out and share something I am doing right now to give low-income youth a better financial future. I serve as a Regional Director for Education First to help provide college scholarships in schools where most students are on the free or reduced lunch program. Students who are chosen to receive one of our scholarships are incredibly hard working individuals who have faced incredible hurdles to get where they are today and are often the first in their families to go to college!
When you look at lifetime earnings, having a college degree on average means an individual can earn a million dollars more than their peers who have only received a high school diploma. By providing scholarships and a college mentor through Education First, we ensure that every student has the opportunity to successfully attain a college degree.
