Give Low-Income Students a Real Chance at a College Education!

Only 14% of students from low-income backgrounds complete college.

We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!

$650 towards $500

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Just a small donation will go a long way to help Education First give scholarships and college coaching to low-income students. Through higher education, our scholars want to leave generational poverty.

Education First is different. We don't target the student with the perfect GPA. Other scholarships do that. Rather, we find students who have overcome significant obstacles and are determined to make a better life for themselves and their families. Our scholars are often the first in their families to graduate from college and are setting the example for their siblings to do the same.

About my fundraiser: As a local educator, the mission of Education First is close to my heart. I have known countless deserving and capable students who have turned down plans for college due to financial hardship. Even if it's one student at a time, Education First hopes to change this. We are a volunteer-run organization, so your gift directly supports scholars from Madison, Roosevelt, and David Douglas High School. I hope you will consider donating to Portland students this season.

Thank you for supporting my efforts,

Kat Schwartz
