Give Low-Income Students a Real Chance at a College Education!

We all have a lot we are thankful for and I am personally thankful to the education I received and it is what has helped me reach where I am today. But a lot of the kids are not fortunate enough to be able to go to college due to multiple reasons. I am volunteering at Education First to help those hardworking kids who have had to face difficult issues with family and health but have overcome all of it and still stayed in school and plan to graduate. At Education First we provide scholarships to these amazing kids. Last year was my first with education first and I got the opportunity to talk to 16 out of a 100 kids who applied for the scholarship and we finally picked 2 winners who received the scholarship. The 2 winners last year - Yesenia Malacara from Crawford High School and Shanique Simpson from Morse High School are both now able to afford community college through the scholarship that was awarded to them.
