Join Me in Transforming Lives Through Education!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraiser. I recently joined the board of Education First, a 501c3 non-profit seeking to make college education an equal opportunity for all. Arriving in the U.S. at 23, a decade later I had the incredible fortune of attending UC Berkeley HaaS. This experience was transformative, significantly enhancing my personal, professional, and social growth. Reflecting on this, I can't help but imagine how much earlier exposure to this opportunity might have radically altered my life's trajectory.

At Education First, our mission is to empower resilient students who have overcome significant obstacles in their pursuit of education. We're not looking for A+ students - there are many scholarships for them. We're looking for remarkable individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary determination, and who we believe deserve every opportunity to achieve their dreams. Through your generous contributions, we have been able to provide 16 scholarships to such deserving students in Austin, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego, Seattle, and San Francisco each year. Our scholarship candidates are selected from predetermined high schools that have high rates of socioeconomically disadvantaged students (as defined by state statistics) and historically lower college application rates

As we approach another scholarship award cycle, we are humbly seeking your financial support to continue our vital work. Your donation will directly contribute to the future of these students, enabling them to access higher education, develop their potential, and build a brighter future.

Here's how your support can make a difference:

1. Empowerment: Your donation will provide financial relief and college coaching to 16 students, removing barriers that may have hindered their pursuit of a college degree. Granted funds go toward tuition, books, and access to professional college coaching services.
2. Inspiration: The scholarships award students with strength of character, a commitment to learning, and a vision for their future. Oftentimes, our scholars are the first in their families to go to college and then set the example for their little brothers and sisters. By investing in these resilient individuals, you send a powerful message that their efforts are recognized and valued. Your support encourages them to excel and inspire others.
3. Community Impact: Your contribution extends beyond the individual recipients. It strengthens the community by fostering education, personal growth, and future leaders.

Over the last few years, scholarship amounts have averaged $5,000 per student with coaching services costing $450 per student per year. We aim to raise the bar and double the amount this year. Join the others like you who already donated. It will help us tremendously if you can spread the word among your networks.
