Make College a reality for low-income youth

I am raising money to provide needed college scholarships and coaching to students like Jorge Meraz that have overcome severe adversity to pursue a college degree. Despite facing hardship, he plans to study construction management at Colorado State University and assist his father in the family business.

I am in my second year as a volunteer for Education First as the High School Liaison Chair in Portland, OR. Education First identifies and supports low-income seniors in high school who are determined to graduate from college. Last year, in 2020 I was honored to help two high school students from the Portland Public School district achieve their goal of going to college with a $5000.00 scholarship each and follow-up support services for the first year at their university. This year, for 2021, the scholarships have been increased to $5500.00 for students pursuing college in 2022. And even more exciting news, we have a Portland donor who has plagued to match your donation, so I would really appreciation your support in helping me achieve my fundraising goal of $500.00 to contribute to the next generations of inventors, creators, designers, thinkers, and leaders to change the world!
