Dear prospective donor,
I am fundrasing to provide college scholarships to students who have overcome adverse circumstances in pursuit of an education. Joanna Juarez and Jocelyn Martinez, our 2021 scholars, experienced financial harship and limited access to college prep resources while in high school. However, with a strong work ethic and determination, they are now first-year students at Cal State L.A. and U.C. San Diego.
I, like Joanna and Jocelyn, was awarded the Education First scholarship in 2007. The $6,500 award helped me afford tuition costs at UCLA. I now hold a master's degree in school psychology and serve public schools. It is an honor to serve on the Board of Education First, a nonprofit organization that awards college scholarships to students attending high schools with historically low percentages of college applicants.
