Being a recent "empty nester" coupled with an increase in free time due to Working From Home (No Commute!) I decided to search for a volunteer board position where I could put my professional experience to work for the good of others. I am happy to report that I was recently confirmed as National IT Director for Education First. Their mission rings true to me as my wife and I both received meaningful scholarships coming out of high school.
I am raising money to provide needed college scholarships and coaching to students like Dilan Robles that have overcome severe adversity to pursue a degree. Despite housing and financial instability, he plans to become a civil engineer, attends University of California, Davis and will be the first in his family to earn a college degree.
Reduced 2020 Donations are Causing a Fall in Scholarship Amounts
I volunteer for Education First where we identify and support low-income seniors who are determined to graduate from college. On average, an individual with a degree can earn over a million dollars more in a lifetime than someone with just a high school diploma.
Help me close the financial gap for underrepresented students by making sure next year's recipients won't see a drop in their scholarship amounts.
